Kathmandu City: The capital
of Nepal, is also known as Kantipur.
It is named after Kasthamandap, an
imposing Pagoda near Hanuman Dhoka
Palace. Kasthamandap, supposed to be
made from a single tree, along with
Durbar Square is one of the ancient
places of Nepal.
Swayambhunath: one of the
Worlds most glorious Buddhist
Stupas, painted on the four-sides of
the spire bases are the never
sleeping eyes of Lord Buddha. It
lies 3 km west of the city and
situated about 77m above the level
of the Valley.
Pashupatinath Temple: a
sacred temple of Lord Shiva
Pashupatinath with two-tiered golden

day of Maha Shivaratri. This temple
is situated amidst the lush green
natural setting, 5 Km. East of city.
Boudhanath: This colossal and
ancient Buddhist Stupa, one of the

Day 03: |
Visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Patan
City and Tibetan Handicraft Center.
Bhaktapur: Also known as
Bhadgaon, Bhaktapur is one of the
three major cities of the Kathmandu
valley, and we will visit its Durbar
square which although larger than
the one in Kathmandu, has fewer
temples due to an earthquake in
1934. We also visit the Nyatapola
Temple, which is not only the
highest temple (98 ft) in the valley
but also one of the best examples of
traditional architecture. Bhaktapur,
no doubt is the most distinctly
medieval city than the other two
cities Kathmandu and Patan. The main
occupation of the locals here are
weaving, pottery and farming. After
the sightseeing we will be driving
to Kathmandu for approximately 45
mins. Upon reaching Kathmandu check
in to hotel. Rest of the evening
free to relax.
Drive approximately 20 mins to Patan
Durbar Square. This sister capital
is an ancient city which is also
known as Lalitpur . This city is
full of Hindu temples and Buddhist
monuments with bronze gateways,
guardian deities and wonderful
carvings. It is also known as the
city of fine arts and for the superb
craftsmanship of its artisans. On
the way you will also visit Tibetan
Handicraft center where you can
observe the fine example of Tibetan
crafts. Later, back to the hotel.
